● Hindusthan Art & Music Society (HAMS) has achieved unprecedented success in its defined goals and identically it is functioning on the pattern of Open University of performing and visual arts. Society is the only organization of its kind which has facilities to cover the whole gamut of education and training in music, dance and fine arts (painting).
● Society is a recognized institution that has a duly framed constitution to govern its day to day affairs. It has a General Body and the Executive Board consisting of eminent educationists, social activists, former bureaucrats, and artists.
● The Society has acquired professional competence and expertise in holding various examinations in the subjects of Music, Dances and Fine Arts which are conducted through a network of more than 3,500 affiliated centers i.e. schools/institutions of Music and Dance situated not only all over India but also in various countries abroad including USA, Netherland, Dubai, Bahrain, Malaysia, etc. The student strength of over one lakh makes it the largest organization in the field of arts education.
As a musical organization, it is an important object of our Society is to focus on spreading India Art & Music all over the world by giving training to the handicapped students and reviving the prestige of Ancient Indian Art & culture.
Bharat Sanskriti Utsab organised by HAMS is an ISO 9001: 2015 certified Global Competition & Festival. Bharat Sanskriti Utsab is a festival and a talent search program in the field of Indian art and culture, Indian classical music and folk song. It was started in 2009, in Burdwan Town, West Bengal. This festival is organized by Hindusthan Art & Music Society every year in the month of December . The program is judged by eminent personalities from the field of art and music. The 12 days long carnival is a vibrant platform that provides an insight of the rich art and culture of India. The festival has gradually reached its zenith over the years and it is on 2020 that the festival is going to celebrate its 13th grand year. It is gradually gaining its importance in West Bengal and is soon going to be a very popular cultural program in the State attracting thousands of audiences every year. Society takes a special interest in the well being of the education, training, recreation and all-round growth of disabled, slum and jhuggi-jhonpri children which comprise a vast section of society. There is a special emphasis on the training and education of handicapped children who have been physically and psychologically assisted by the Society from time to time. A lot of relief and recreation have gone into their well being. It has made a distinct difference in the quality of their lives. Scholarships are earmarked for such candidates and they are imparted free training in music, dance, and other allied arts.
Art is a part of Indian culture and it should be given importance by the people. It is the expression of our creative ideas and imagination. India has one of the world’s largest collections of songs, music, dance, folk traditions, performing arts, etc. The members of Hindusthan Art and Music Society is engaged in restoring the lost pride of Indian Art & Music through implementing various new ideas, like researching on those lost traditions, forms and applying new ways to present them among the new generation. Besides that, we also trying to involve young members in our society who can continue this legacy and showcase our Indian Culture in the stage of different countries in the world.
